Friends, December 1 is Giving Tuesday this year. Here are some of the places the Huffbunnies are giving to and supporting. I haven’t included any of the go fund me type situations supporting the staffs of our favorite local spots, but as Covid numbers climb again these might become important again, too.
- Black Voters Matter – voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.
- CHiPs food pantry and women’s shelter in Brooklyn- we played at their party last March, just before the quarantine. It was the last time we played together indoors & without masks.
- Common Justice – develops and advances solutions to violence… without relying on incarceration.
- Cooke School and Institute – Huffbunny Jonah’s school.
- The Cooper Union – Huffbunny Steve G is a Trustee
- Creative Commons – Overcoming legal obstacles to the sharing of knowledge and creativity.
- Doctors Without Borders – Medicins Sans Frontieres – Medical care where it’s needed most.
- Electronic Frontier Foundation – defending digital privacy and free speech.
- Fair Fight – Voting is the bedrock on which our community’s future and your ambitions are built.
- National Independent Venue Association #SaveOurStatges
- Southern Poverty Law Center – Fighting hate. Teaching tolerance.
- Tanksounds.org – Huffbunny Jim is the exec director, and Huffbunny Stumpy is on the board.
- True Colors United – solutions to youth homelessness with a focus on LGBTQ young people.
