The Tank, Bill Frisell, Bill Morrison: the Karbank Residency

In April of 2019, The TANK Center for Sonic Arts invited guitarist Bill Frisell and filmmaker Bill Morrison to the Tank for a residency that would allow them to create music and images connecting The TANK to the theme of the West, examining the current experience of its rural environment, the conditions and forces that have shaped it, and the deeper context of its history. At this residency, Tank technicians, working with Paul Sangster of Future Lighting in Los Angeles, were able for the first time to project images on the Tank and on the surrounding landscape. This work will form the basis of a multi-media concert event and a feature length documentary film, for general release and for presentation as a permanent installation at the Tank, telling its story and the story of the region and its people
