Only the bravest* of Huffbunnies dared venture into the coldest of outer boroughs (the place went by the name of Manhattan, an island named after a drink!) to step into the Gerard chambre de famille for last night’s Trainwreck. The “Evening of Music” featured no less than:
- everyone playing on Steve’s guitars, banjos and mandolins**, with assorted plastic baby toy percussion instruments
- the group gathered around a campfire***
- a good and great selection of cheeses
- fine singing
- a high percentage of Leadbelly songs
- and some other songs that received the ‘dust-off’ treatment: (Across the Great Divide, Long Black Veil)
*bravest: those without any plans; **the entire evening was conceived as the quickest means of getting all of the instruments tuned; *** campfire: a wide screen TV hooked up to a laptop with the Huffbunnies song pages up.
